Junior Beginners

Boys and girls 8 years and upwards may apply to join the band beginner classes that commence every autumn.

No musical experience necessary
Instruments are provided by the band
ABRSM grade examinations catered for if desired
Social outlet - opportunity to make friends
Builds confidence
Lots of performance opportunities
Instruments recognised for Leaving & Junior Cert exams

Adult Beginners & Returning Players

Brass is a choice for adults to begin on. Unlike some instruments, the adage "you're never too old to learn" really does apply, and the band has had many great success stories. Adult classes are held on a regular basis.

No musical experience necessary
Instruments are provided by the band
Great travel opportunities
Adults are always taught separately to junior members

Those who have played in their youth in Dungarvan or elsewhere are welcome to return to playing with the band. If you have moved to the area and already play an instrument, you are most welcome to audition for the senior band, or sit in with the adult class.
